9th Anniversary Celebration - 2014

The Commandery and Auxiliary were nine years old on the 7th May 2014.  A Thanksgiving Mass was held on the 1st June 2014 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Atomic Hill Estate, Ashongman. A presentation of Gh1,000 was made to the Church and over 400 books presented to the St. Mark Catholic School.                                                                                                                Rev. John Benyah-Mensah was the celebrant.  The Parish Council Chairman and Vice Chairman, supported by a teacher of the school received the donations. Two Brothers were blessed and elevated to Sir Knights on this joyous occasion 

After Mass there was a route march and buffet lunch for all.

Marian Rally

On the 17th May 2014, to celebrate Marian Month, the Accra East Grand District 1 Ladies Auxiliary organised a Marian Rally.  After a route walk carrying placards honouring our Lady, we gathered around the grotto to crown our Queen of Heaven and present flowers and our petitions to her.  Below is the Queen of Peace President present her bouquet on behalf of the Auxiliary and the Sisters who attended.



Easter Visit to Sick and Aged

On Holy Saturday, the Auxiliary and Commandery organised a visit to our Sick and Aged Members.  Hampers and Cash were given to them. We prayed together and wished them healing and good health.  We visited four members and surprised our Spiritual Director Rev Fr. Nimorious with a hamper too.  Below are the hampers and team one ready to go.  Our oldest Brother and Rev Father are seen here.





District Drill Competition


On the 1st May 2014 District 1 held a drill competition at the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Church/School compound.  It was well attended.  Below we see the team who represented Queen of Peace

Weddings in the first quarter of 2014

Two Sisters,  Prudence Sumbo (nee Kuutiere) and Firmine Akpo (nee Atorkui) celebrated the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on the 18th January and 22nd February respectively.  Brothers and Sisters attended in their numbers to wish them well in their union.

THE KNIGHTS - 14th District Commandery



THE LADIES AUXILIARY - Accra East District 3

The Ladies Co-ordinating Committee was established to co-ordinate the activities of the three Grand Ladies Auxiliaries in Ghana with Sis. Josephine Sey as the first Chairperson.

The Ladies Auxiliary have been very active in organising in all the five countries in West Africa. The first Ladies Auxiliary was organised in Liberia followed by Philomena's Auxiliary at Sekondi, then Kumasi, Keta and Denu respectively all in Ghana. The ladies are a strong support of the Knights whenever they turnout.(A turnout is when the Order appears for an event in full military uniform)

JUNIOR ORDER
Running concurrently with the Knights and Ladies are the Cadet Commanderies & Junior Auxiliaries. These are the nursery stages of the Order where young boys and girls, as future leaders, are groomed to take over from the older Knights and Ladies.


Meeting Days of Commandery and Auxilliary of Queen of Peace, Madina - All meetings are held at the Queen of Peace Catholic School premises.

The Knights Commandery meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9.00 am.
The Ladies Auxiliary meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at 8.00 am.
The Cadet Commandery meet the 1st Sunday of the month at 9.30 a.m. after First Mass.
The Junior Auxiliary meet the 1st Sunday of the month at 9.30 a.m. after the First Mass.



The Patron Saint of the Ladies Auxiliary is The Blessed Virgin Mary and her colours are Blue for love and White for purity

The Patron Saint of the Knights is St. John the Baptist
